Sumilon getaway

The wonderful beach I encountered recently is Sumilon. This great sandbar is outstanding. Firstly, I was curious what’s a sandbar is. But I know it comes in different shapes of sand because of the waves. That’s a nice. I realized how magnificient God’s creation. And I know it is glorious.

First, we came in the morning, the sunny day was a good thing ready for taking some shots and swimming. I captured some different shots on different angles. It;s exciting. There was also an infinity pool on the resort. The whole island is a whole resort. It’s really amazing when you see the whole thing on the spot! My score is 10 out of 10! perfect getaway for visitors and beach lovers. The fine powdery white sand is also magnificent. There’s nothing you could ask for more.

Getting here

In getting here is by bus, taxi or your car. If by bus you have to go to South Terminal in Cebu City, and then take the Sumilon bus, just ask the driver where to stop. It’s around 4 hours going here from the city to Oslob. And after that find the Bluewater Sumilon resort entrance at the coast. And then ride a boat going to the Bluewater Sumilon island.

The fare is around 3 USD for bus. Taxi is up to 70 USD from Cebu City to Bluewater Sumilon Resort pier.
Boat fare is around 30 USD.

From Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort

6:30 AM – Arrival at Mactan-Cebu International Airport

  • Meet your driver or pick up your rental vehicle.
  • Enjoy a quick breakfast before departing for South Cebu.

7:00 AM – Scenic Drive to Oslob

  • Begin the approximately 3.5 to 4-hour drive via the Cebu South Road.
  • Pass through charming towns including Naga, Carcar, Sibonga, Argao, Dalaguete, Alcoy, Boljoon, and Oslob.

11:45 AM – Boat Transfer to Sumilon Island

  • Enjoy a 15–20 minute boat ride across the turquoise waters.
  • Take in breathtaking views of Sumilon Island as you approach.

12:10 PM – Arrival at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort

  • Welcome drink and resort orientation.
  • Check in to your room or day-use facilities.

12:30 PM – Lunch

  • Savor fresh seafood and local Cebuano cuisine at the resort restaurant while overlooking the sea.

2:00 PM – Explore the Island

Choose from the resort’s activities:

  • Relax on the famous white sandbar (depending on the tide)
